Virage Media solutions start by ingesting a video
signal, wether analog or digital or flat file. Once
this signal is retrieved using Virage's Rich Media applications,
data is then analyzed and processed. We have provided
solutions for processing or analyzing the video and
audio in the following ways:
- Speech to text (utilizing the state of the art
SoftSound technology with ACI capabilities)
- Speaker recognition (for extracting the name of
the person speaking)
- Facial Recognition (for uses in specific searches
when trying to find a key person in a video)
- Smart Clip analysis (for detecting US based standard
News brodcasts)
- Optical Character Recognition (for detecting number
of times a logo or phrase appears as images)
- Scene cut detection (for determining when a scene
changes or a change of speakers)
- Keyframe analysis (for creating breakpoints and
static images for searches)
We can also create custom plug-ins to Virage's VideoLogger
and Encoder applications that will allow data to be manipulated
in any way desired. Such as encoding and transcoding in
a single pass through process to some of the more popular
codecs such as FLV, or XVID (avi).
